Mrs. Rośa was a beautiful person who lead her life in way that made you understand beauty is not only skin deep. As soon as you met her the first thing you noticed was her angelic demeanor. Opened and empathetic; she gave precise advices. Sound and real; was the way she used her natural way of being to connect with the people in her life. Truly, she was an earthbound angel. She will be certainly missed.
Sincerely,
Nana Buruku

I will FOREVER hear her greet me “How are you little girl”…….I absolutely loved when she called me “little girl”. I also, will never forget how to travel to Brooklyn from any bridge. One evening during my many rides home with the family, Rosa showed me how and which bridge would bring me into Brooklyn. We actually crossed each bridge that evening as she preceded to tell me what route to take after crossing that bridge.
Rosa was one of the realist straight shooter I know, and if she didn’t wanna say anything, her eyes said it ALL. I LOVE & will forever miss you.
Forever in my heart, Shannon

The ability to live in a house filled with three generations for the past 28 years of my life has been a privilege that I continue to appreciate the older I become and the longer I work in healthcare. Gueli has always been there for me from picking me up from school to taking me to my dance classes, music lessons and performances to simply lending and listening ear to my problems and silly complaints. She would be at every performance and when I came home from performances that took place out of state she would ask to watch the video several times always telling me I was the best dancer in the group. That constant encouragement lended to the confidence I have gained not only in dance but in everyday life. And every time I returned home from work she would not only ask how my day was but always wanted to hear details about my shift not jut the generic “oh it was fine” she asked because she really wanted to know and continue to be involved and present. She offered advice especially when I came to her asking for help with translating medical terminology into Spanish so that I could improve my communication with my patients.
Her selflessness is an attribute I feel has greatly influenced me in my life and in my decision to go into healthcare and I can only hope I can continue making her proud through my accomplishments and future endeavors. She was and continues to be the epitome of what a strong woman is, how to treat others and how to live a life without regret. Although I miss her terribly She is now able to rest and reunite with Nani and Tia Lucy along with her faithful furry protectors/companions Bear, Tiger, Buster, Angelita and Dulce.
I love you now forever and always, Itztla

My thoughts of the "Talented Mrs. Rośa",
There is so much you can say about a person.
It's equally rare when you have when you have nothing but good memories of a person.
Mrs. Rośa is what I would define as a modern day saint! There was no end to her ability to empathize, love and forgive. Mrs. Rośa was a lover of children and gave you the special kind of love that only a person with a love filled heart could give. I never knew quite how she did it...she had this unique ability to sense and heal a hurt soul and an uncanny compassion to lend an open listening ear or grant you the warmest most loving arms to cry in. And trust me, you don't have to be a "llorona" to succumb to the genuine warmth of her touch because she loved in a way that you could feel it coming from her soul. Equally, she knew how to use her words of guidance without creating offense...instead, she inspired growth and inspiration. There are no words that can express how much her presence will be missed. The angels cheer!!! Olodumare has recieved another angel to help guide and restore humanity in a stronger celestial form. God bless the life she led and the lives she touched while we had her.
With love,
Esugbade

I will always remember her! Now heaven has a New Angel. God blessed her soul.

We were saddened to hear about Tia Rosi’s passing. Tío John, Annette, Ivy, Itzla and Orisa, so sorry for your loss.
Ricardo and I will not be able to join you at this time, but our hearts and our thoughts are with you all.
Tia Rosi welcomed me with open arms the second she met me when my father took me to meet her when I first came from Cuba. She was open, honest and sassy. I liked her immediately. The first thing she noticed was that I bit my nails, but they were painted. She quickly told me I was to stop biting my nails if I wanted to use nail polish again. And she made sure to add she would be checking. Needless to say I never bit my nails again. You listened when Tia Rosi spoke.
Being in a strange place with family and people I’d just met was challenging for me at times and she was a very sympathetic ear when I couldn’t communicate what I was feeling at home. She always knew what to say to make me feel better.
Years later, when I was about to get married, I told my then fiancé about Tia Rosi and we both agreed she should be the Godmother at our wedding. She immediately took to my new husband when she met him, as if she’d known him all his life.
Life, situations, work demands, etc., sometimes takes us in different paths and away from the family and we do not make the time to visit with the people we love and care for as we should. But, we never forget them. We always carry them in our hearts.
Tia Rosi, our lives are so much better because you were in it. You will always be exceptionally special for us. May a chorus of angels sing you to your resting place.
Tío John, Primas, we love you and will see you soon.

I always remember your mom at all of our recitals supporting your awesome choreography and us, your students and then it trickled down to her granddaughters. She always sat so quietly and hidden but her aura was so bright you could not miss her.
Our hearts are with you in this time and always. She was such a beautiful person inside and out, and will always be remembered.
Sending our love, light, and healing,
Rest In Peace, Rosa.

My deepest condolences on the passing of your mami. Being a part of Ballet Hispanico, in those days, I always called her "Ma" because she was truly my mum. She was one of many mothers that will always help in events, festivals, recitals, etc... but most of all , us young kids. My parents never owned a car, and whenever it was very late at night, Ma will take me home, even if it's out of her way. We, The Jr. Company, was always a family that cared for one another. She was a great and special woman and had been an inspiration to us all. I admire the way your mum lived her life and the light she bought to others. She will be missed by many. There is no beautiful person in the world than MOTHER. Those we love never pass away. She will stay forever in our hearts.
Adding precious and wonderful memories to cherish. To love and never forget.
I pray to God to give you all strength to deal with this situation. Words are not enough to ease the deep sorrow but her memories will be treasured in our hearts till the end of time. Stay strong and please know that we share in your grief.
Wishing the Hamilton family comfort and sending my prayers to you all. I'm very sorry for your loss.
Remembering you Ma. Love you. May your soul Rest in Peace.
God Bless you all.

I never called your mom Rosa; she was Mrs Hamilton or La mama de Yvonne. She was a quiet and strong force all at once with her big car and her cigarette. She seemed so quiet to me that I wondered how you all communicated. It was like she needed few words for you to understand what was going on or needed to happen.
My memory is from when I was 12 or 13 or was I 14? Rosa used to pick you and Annette up in her car, often after we did some performance in the city somewhere, and she would also take the rest of us to our homes because it was already getting dark. At first I did not understand and I felt like I was being an inconvenience; after all, you guys lived in Brooklyn and I lived in Washington Heights. Why would she go out of her way? As time passed I understood because she taught us all to take care of each other in a big city where you do not just let someone walk at night alone to a train station. She taught us that even when you drop someone off you wait till the door of the building opens and shuts, you wait till they get buzzed in through the second door, you wait for the train to come, you wait for the person to get in the train and for the doors to close, you wait at the bus stop with someone till their bus comes, you wait till they get in a cab and you tell them to call you when they get home.
When Rosa no longer picked us up we continued to do these things for each other. We made sure everyone got home safe.
Gracias Rosa, with your giant car, your cigarette, and your big heart and stern look when you asked us "how are you getting home?"
Love, Damaris

My sincere condolences to the Hamilton family.
Rosa as Yvette mentioned was also my surrogate parent.
As in those day's some of the parents, really looked after
us. Rosa was so supportive to me and my family. Rosa was so generous, as she drove my sister, my mom and I home several times after a show or late rehearsal to the Bronx. Which really put her and Yvonne and Annette out since going back to Brooklyn from the Bronx was a trek.
Growing up as a young dancer along-side Yvonne, and Annette, some the best times of my life, performing, and traveling and dancing. Rosa was always there cheering us all on, and when needed, would sew up costume’s backstage, while I was wearing them to help me to get ready to perform. One thing I can always say Rosa had my back always, her caring and love was always evident. Rosa will be missed
enormously. May Rosa Rest in Peace.
All in Love…. Arty
