I am absolutely stunned by this. Was honored to have worked with Eddie for 20 years as a NYC Correction Officer on Riker's Island (C-74). I got very close with Eddie as he was my partner in the jails mailroom. Man - we did it all in there. The highlight was when we received an award from the Warden for the tremendous amount of contraband we found & prevented from entering the facility. We were such a great team. I could never have been successful in my job without Eddie by my side. He was without question the "BEST PARTNER I EVER HAD". We were fellow Brooklynites, as well as die-hard Beatle fans. The best thing about Eddie was not only working with him on the job; but being with him away from it as well. Man - this hurts. Feel like someone knocked the wind out of me. I know God has welcomed Eddie with open arms as a Beatle song is playing .If I know Eddie, he's probably playing the drums right now. My heart breaks for his family. May the Sacred Heart of Jesus give them strength. Never forgotten my friend - never forgotten. RIP. With a heavy heart; "Steve Bianco"...

Ed, Thank you for bringing your special family to live next door to us. We have many special memories. You Ed, just always great to talk to late at night on the back porch, in the morning on the front porch(and I think we saw you in your PJs as much as your family). You clearly had a porch routine. Ed, we always marveled at how you had those girls out there hanging Christmas decorations for hours, shoveling snow, digging out cars, lifting, packing(no need for a son). It was evident you were so proud of your girls. Hurricane Sandy even became a special time having you and the family here. But the best Ed, is how you made Halloween a sacred holiday. Didn't like it much until you moved in. You were so proud of each perfectly placed item, and new additions each year. And therego those girls again working like your witch elves to help set it up. I especially wanted to hurt the garage creature and rat, but would laugh at how much you enjoyed them like it was the first time you saw them. Rest in Peace buddy. You are missed. Lucille, Erin, Megan, Caitlin, spouses, grandkids, and all the family, you are in our hearts and prayers. Love, Joni,Bob and family

My sincerest condolences to my "Brooklyn Cousins". I have always and will always look fondly on Thanksgivings spent together in Bayonne (Ed was always in charge of bringing the pastries) and trips to the beach when you would come visit my grandparents' house. His Aunt Joanie always considered him her son and I can tell you that she always looked forward to those Sunday conversations. I take comfort and consolation in knowing that he is with Teddy, Aunt Doris and Gram. If there's anything I can do, please, don't hesitate to reach out.
Your "Joisey Cousin",
Christian

Ed had a great sense of humor, our mothers were best friends when we were just little kids. We realized that later on in life. He always bragged about how proud he was of his “girls “. He will be up there in heaven dancing to the Beatles with aunt Maryjane ,mom & dad !
