Obituary of Charles V. Rorke

RORKE- Charles V. , on January 5, 2014. Fifty year resident of Breezy Point. Survived by his children Maureen, Charles Jr. and Ellen (Burti), six grandchildren; Jennifer, Anthony, Christopher, Thomas, Anne and Rosemary. Sister Teresa (Sister of St. Joseph). He is preceded in death by his wife Rosemary (McHugh)and brothers Thomas, John and George and sisters Mary (Wiburn) and Anne (Fernandes). Parents Thomas and Anne (Denver). Served his country in the Army Air Corp during WWII; the New York City Police Department for 37 years, retired in 1989 at the rank of Inspector, Borough Commander of the Queens Detectives. Avid woodworker, sailor and outdoorsman he dedicated his life to serving his family, his home in Breezy Point and the larger community of New York City. He served the Parishes of St Thomas More and St. Edmund as a member of the parish council, as well as lector, Eucharistic minister and Sacristant. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Blessed Trinity Parish for the restoration of St. Edmunds Church.
