Obituary of Mae C. Short

Mae C. Short was born in 1914 and came to Brooklyn in 1925. She leaves behind three sons; Brian (Pam), Thomas (Lisa), Francis III (Maria). She was pre-deceased by her loving husband Francis and her daughter Cecelia Russell (Carson) and her son Kevin (Lynn). Mae was a loving grandmother of Tricia, Kevin, Christopher, Megan and Francis IV and great-grandmother of Christina. Throughout her life, Mae was involved in many church groups and activities at St. Columba RC Church, including Bingo, the Senior Citizens Club, and the Hop Along Club. She also enjoyed being a lecter during mass. Mae was a proud graduate of Brown Business School. She once gave a speech about the history of Marine Park for the Marine Park Civic Assosciation. She worked for Macy's Department Store as well as the Board of Elections. Mae also was a member of the Douglas MacArthur Republican Club. She leaves behind many happy memories of her lake home in Lake Hopatcong, as well as many dear friends there.
