When I hear the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag, I see in my mind's eye, Ed Dempsey with his hand over his heart at the start of every union meeting or rally. A true labor leader and a man to admire. We all owe him more than can be written here. On a personal note, Ed taught me the meaning of "Patience." I will not forget. Thank you, Ed.

So many families have better lives because of Eddie...good jobs and benefits he got them so homes could be bought, kids sent to college, and retirement with enough to enjoy it. And he would smile and clap you on the shoulder. He taught us the meaning of "union" and held the line for us and ours. We walk the line in his memory. He will be missed.
