Obituary of Robert James Tierney
Bob was a lifelong resident of Brooklyn. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret of fifty-seven years. He was predeceased by his parents Rose and Peter Tierney and his brother Thomas. Bob was a beloved brother-in-law and adored uncle and grand uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Bob was a proud veteran of the US Army. He entered the army at the age of seventeen and served as a military policeman in both Germany and at Governors Island in the early 1960s. Bob proudly worked for Con Edison for thirty-eight years. During retirement Bob always enjoyed trips with Margaret and time with family. Bob was a devout Catholic, who was a parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians and Good Shepherd parishes. He was also an avid sports fan, rarely missing a game of his New York Mets, Giants and Rangers.
Wake service will be on Tuesday December 10, 2024 from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home. 3024 Quentin Road Brooklyn, NY 11234, 718-339-8900.
Funeral mass will be on Wednesday December 11, 2024 at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. 1950 Batchelder Street Brooklyn, NY 11229.
Committal service will immediately follow to Holy Cross Cemetery. 3620 Tilden Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11203.
