Obituary of Elizabeth Ostopowitz

Elizabeth Ostopowitz, 79, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away Friday, November 29, 2024. Mrs. Ostopowitz was born December 22, 1944, in Brooklyn, NY. She is the daughter of the late John and the late Margaret (nee Ryan) Dwyer.

Mrs. Ostopowitz was a familiar face to generations of families, league bowlers and casual visitors at Gil Hodges Bowling Alley. With a warm smile and a generous spirit, she ran the snack bar, making countless memories with bowlers, offering a listening ear, words of encouragement, and a helping hand.

Mrs. Ostopowitz is predeceased by her beloved husband Frank Ostopowitz, who passed away in 2008.

She is survived by her devoted children Susann Killen (James,) Frank Ostopowitz (Naomi) and Michael Ostopowitz.

Loved grandmother of Maren, Ryan, Sebastian, Liam and Frances.

Cherished sister of John Dwyer (Jeanne,) the late Maureen Dwyer, Margaret Ann Dwyer, Katherine Dwyer, beloved twin Eileen Farrell, the late Robert Dwyer and James Dwyer. 

Mrs. Ostopowitz will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Monday, December 2 from 2:00 – 5:00 & 7:00 -9:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, Inc., 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn, NY.
