Obituary of Joanne M. Smythe

Joanne M. Smythe passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the age of 79. Joanne was born on January 5, 1945 in Brooklyn NY to the late Anna (Nancy) Farrell and Joseph F. Keating. Joanne was blessed to have also had a step-father, the late John M. Roche, who joined her mother in raising her after her father passed away.

Joanne is survived by her loving life partner Bill Galvin, her sons, Vincent Pimpinella (Linda) and John Pimpinella (Donna), her grandchildren, Danise Sheridan (Sean), Vincent Pimpinella (Jennifer), Lisa Cerciello (Alex), Jesse Pimpinella, Michael Pimpinella, Lauren Pimpinella and Marie Pimpinella, great-grandchildren Giuliana, Valentino, Alessandra and Adam. In addition she was lucky to have numerous cousins and an expansive family of adored friends.

Joanne was a proud Brooklynite who loved the theater, eating at her favorite restaurants and all things related to the care of animals, especially her dog Teddy.

Joanne was an amazing, generous and loving person who will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.

Wake service will be on Friday June 21, 2024 from 3:00 to 9:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home. 3024 Quentin Road Brooklyn, NY 11234, 718-339-8900.

Funeral mass will be on Saturday June 22, 2024 at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. 1950 Batchelder Street Brooklyn, NY 11229.

Committal service will be private.
