To the Ganley family,
I was thinking of Ms. Ganley when I came back to my hometown of Brooklyn, NY from Virginia a week ago where I live now. Every time I come home, I would always say to myself: I wonder how Ms. Ganley is doing? I didn't expect to read this. I am so sorry for your loss of Ms. Ganley.
Ms. Ganley was my 2nd grade teacher in 1983 at PS.102 in Brooklyn, NY. Ms. Ganley was tough on us and she was like a disciplinarian when she taught but I realize all the lessons she taught, shaped us to being good responsible people. She loved and cared about her students. One of the greatest lessons I remember her teaching us was to be somebody in life, and not someone's follower.
When I moved from Bay Ridge to Marine Park, Brooklyn, I didn't realize this until year's later but one sunday, I recognized Ms. Ganley at church! I didn't realize she was a parishioner of the Good Shepard Church! There were several times I would walk Ms. Ganley home from church and didn't realize that she lived 4 blocks from my parents home! All this time!
I'll miss you Ms. Ganley. The lessons you've taught me as I can assure you, they have not been wasted. The only way I know how to end this message is the way that Ms. Ganley taught me:
"Thank you Ms. Ganley."
I love and miss you forever Ms. Ganley.
