Obituary of Roy K McGinnis

Roy Kenneth McGinnis, 73, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on March 8, 2023, in Largo, FL with his adoring wife, Kathleen (Fenton), at his bedside.

Roy was born on June 9, 1949, to Doris (Hodne) in Brooklyn, New York.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran and steamfitter with Local Union 638 by trade. He was also a proud patriot, master craftsman, artist, mechanic, engineer, marksman, orator, and leader by hobby - a true Renaissance man. 

Roy had great ties to the Marine Park community as a St. Thomas Aquinas swim team coach and the founder and leader of Boy Scout Troop 638.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen, his children Roy (Allison), Brian (Lauren), and Kenneth (Kathyann), and his grandchildren Gavin, Hailey, Liam, Ethan, William, Jack, and James McGinnis. 

A Memorial Service will be held at Marine Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 28th, 2023 from 3:00 - 8:00 P.M.
