Maureen Walsh was called home to our Lord on Friday, March 17, 2023. Born on July 20, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the third child of Walter Murphy and Viola (Conklin) Murphy. A lifelong Brooklyn native until moving to New Jersey in 2013, Maureen spent most of her years in both the Flatbush & Marine Park sections of Brooklyn, whereas a child she attended St. Vincent Ferrer grammar school. After graduating Catherine McCauley High School, Maureen started a brief career in the workplace before she met the love of her life, Frank Walsh in 1963. They married on January 30, 1965 and started their family in January of 1966 with the birth of their first son Francis (Basia) followed by Timothy (Alyson) in 1967 and Mary Kathleen (Stephen) in 1971.
Affectionately know as Baka, she was the proud grandmother to twelve adoring grandchildren: Big Matthew, Samantha, Matt, Nicholas, Caitlyn, Kelsey, Logan, Madelyn, Casey, Emily, Tyler and Daniel. She is predeceased by her sister Annamae Bautz.
She is survived by her devoted sister & best friend, Joan Homer and her brother Walter Murphy. Aunt Maureen was loved by her countless nieces and nephews and is pre-deceased by her loving niece Patricia (Bautz) Longo. Over the years, Maureen loved spending time with both family and friends, which included summers at Breezy Point and once a month Thursday night card games with the girls, where the laughter never stopped. Nothing though, was more important to her than her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It was this faith that sustained her right up until the the time of her passing as she is now in paradise.
