Steven DeLea

Obituary of Steven J. DeLea

On Monday, December 12th, Steven DeLea peacefully passed away in his home.  He is survived by his wife of over 40 years and three children Anthony, Joseph, and Ashley.  Steve was an avid fisherman, bowler, poker player, and one of the most skilled bricklayers in Brooklyn.  He spent almost his entire career working for the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS), working his way from bricklayer up to Deputy Director.  Steve took pride in his service to New York City, especially when he worked the 9/11 Cleanup.  Steve's biggest passion, however, was his family.  Nothing could make him more proud than talking about his family and their success.  He will surely be missed!

The visitation for Steven J. DeLea will be held at Marine Park Funeral Home on Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church on Monday, December 19, 2022, at 9:30 AM - the family will be gathering at the funeral home by 8:30 AM. The Committal Service will immediately follow the Funeral Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery.
