Obituary of Kevin William Rooney

Kevin William Rooney passed away peacefully at Calvary Hospital on September 21, 2022.

He was a beloved father and grandfather and a friend to all who knew him.  He is survived by daughters Melissa (Thomas Geggel) and Emily (Jacob Neuthaler), granddaughters Natalie and Audrey, his ex-wife, Patricia, who remained a dear friend, and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his first wife, Ann, his parents Bridget and Thomas, and five siblings, Sally, Peggy, Gerald, John and Leo.   

 Kevin was born in the Inwood section of Manhattan and spent most of his adult life in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. 

Kevin served for two years in the army and was stationed in France during the Vietnam War. 

He worked in sales at Macy's, selling mattresses and rugs for nearly 20 years.

Kevin will be remembered for his sense of humor, his ability to connect with people, his devotion to the NY Jets and Mets, and most of all, for his love for his family. 

Forever In Our Hearts

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, Inc., 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn, NY.

Cremation to take place at Green-Wood Crematory.

Interment at Long Island National Cemetery to follow. This will be a private gathering with immediate family only.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Kevin's memory to the Calvary Fund, Inc. or the Amazin' Mets Foundation.
