I was very fond of your mom and your dad and I enjoyed being in their company, whether it be watching the super bowl, at your block parties or away in New Hampshire. I'm so sorry to hear of Alice's passing. We often walked Nicole around the park in her carriage and played many games of bocce together. She was devoutly religious and one of the nicest people I've ever known. I never heard her say a bad word about anyone. Rest in peace Alice, you and Jim are together again.

Grandma, When you helped to light a candle at my sweet 16 I said to you “ one of the most impactful things about you, to everyone around you, is your positivity and light. One of my favorite things to say is “I can’t” and whether you are there or not I somehow end up hearing “I can, I can, and I can” and it’s always in your voice. Then I sigh and end up doing whatever it is because I know you’ll find out when I don’t.” That has not and will never change. I promise you to try and believe in myself even a fraction as much as you did. Thank you for everything, but especially that. I love you. Nicole

To my precious, loon-loving, mac-and-cheese-mastering, holiday-decorating, hugs-giving, kids-teaching, forever-walking, strength-building, laugh-making, prayer-giving, butterfly-pin-wearing, Grandma, Your time on this planet did not go unnoticed. Your unwavering strength and commitment to God was everything your family needed to see and more. We carry you with us. We'll notice the signs: butterflies, of course. And general feelings of happiness… waves of strength and random bouts of humor. We're all so blessed you were ours. Until we meet again, I love you, Melissa And to my mom… when you read this… I am so proud of you. To my uncles… I am so grateful to you. Little bits of Alice (and Jim, of course) shine through each of you. You continue the legacy now–the reason we're all proud to be called Woods.
