Uncle Thomas, may you rest in peace. I’ll miss you.
I’m happy that he’s in a better place but sad that I’ll never hear his voice again. Call or visits with him were always filled with stories and laughter. We shared a love of family history and were able to share some great discoveries. I’ll miss his smile, his stories, his laughter, his friendship, and his general good nature. I’ll take comfort that he’s reunited with Aunt Connie and family who've gone before him. He left a positive mark on this world and I’m grateful for the time we shared.
With love, Jackie, Liz and family

Rest In Peace, Uncle Thomas
I am grateful for the years I knew you, I only wish that I had meet you sooner.
May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Uncle Thomas was a man of faith, kindness, thoughtfulness, laughter and great love for family and friends. Although we lived many miles apart for the last 30 plus years, we kept in touch regularly and as the other family members can attest to, he was a wonderful story teller. Every phone call with him included stories about family, his past in New York, the people he worked with and each call included much laughter. And, let us not forget the occasional surprise package containing a book he thought one might like or the Junior’s cheesecake that added smiles and calories to our lives!
We may never know the extent of his kindness to others but we do know that he touched many lives with his goodness. One of the many examples of his kindness was how he always included some residents of St. Vincent’s Home for Boys at his holiday gatherings; those boys went on to become dear friends of Thomas and wonderful men. He will be sorely missed by those who knew him and to know him was to love him.
I remember their wedding and his great happiness at having Aunt Connie be his wife and the love he had for his new family. Thomas loved Aunt Connie and was lost without her. I thank Aunt Connie’s family for taking such loving care of Thomas.
Uncle Thomas is at peace now and it was a great gift to have had him in our lives.
Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
(Irish Poem by Alex MacLean)
With love and sympathy, Teresa (Mylott), John and Chris Dwyer

We miss Tom so much already. He will forever be in our hearts and prayers. He loved sharing stories and had many to tell. So enjoyed the phone calls with family and friends and could easily talk an hour. He spoke often of his sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and friends. They all meant the world to Tom as did all his grandkids. But nothing compared to his love for my Mom, Connie. When he lost his beloved Connie, he lost his heart. Tom and Connie were married 39 years and had a wonderful life together. They were so happy and she took great care of Tom as he did her. Tom meant the world to me not just because he was a wonderful and kind person, but because he made my Mom so happy and I will be forever grateful.
Yours,
Regina

Even though we did not live as close as we would have liked, you were always in our hearts. Our mother, your sister Anne, would look forward to your talks and discussions of the latest articles in The Tablet. You were always so thoughtful- whether it was sending a Junior’s cheesecake, Jo-Mart chocolates(the famous Mylott sweet-tooth so many of us inherited!) a book you thought one of us would enjoy, or a poem of encouragement, you never forgot about your New Jersey family! Words cannot express how much we will miss you, especially your sister Anne. May the eternal light shine upon you.
Love, Anne, Mike, Brigit, Erin and Deirdre.

I never met a person who didn't like Tom Mylott. He was a man among men, a mensch, a rock of the family, a good guy and, as his Brother in Law Tom Graham said, "a good soul." With the face of an Irish cherub and the spirit of a jolly Leprechaun, Thomas danced his way through life, making tons of friends and touching the hearts of all who knew him. Here was a truly honest man who was a good Catholic and set the example for all. Tom was a loving husband, stepfather, brother and uncle and it was always a delight to know he would be coming over for a visit. Children ran to him and like St. Francis, there wasn't an animal who didn't trot to him to be petted. Tom was the guy you loved to be with, for he always had a funny story, a bit of the Blarney and a rock solid knowledge of family lore. His laugh was contagious as his red face became redder and redder.
Tom Mylott was a rare commodity these days - an honest, sincere man and his loss will touch many hearts. There is no doubt he went directly to Heaven to be with his beloved wife, Connie and to shake the hand of St. Patrick. May the wind be at your back, Good Man and we hope to meet again someday. Godspeed, Uncle Thomas.
