Marie Raczko

Obituary of Marie Patricia Raczko

Marie loved all animals and never passed up the opportunity to meet and pet strange and unusual animals on her vacations including Oxen, Horses, White Tigers. She especially loved dogs and cats and let us have many pets growing up.

She was born a tough strong Brooklyn Irish girl from Cobble Hill Brooklyn with her ancestors coming from Ireland's County Cavan and County Leitrim. She attended Bishop McDonnell High School which was exclusively offered to gifted honor students via scholarship for smart girls. She graduated from Kingsborough Community College with the highest academic achievement from Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.

She was an active member of St. Edmund's Neo-Catechumenate group and The Good Shepherd Catholic Club and cherished her friends. She volunteered often including making food for the homeless and also helping troubled teens at Covenant House in Manhattan.  She was a retired legal secretary for a Wall Street law firm.

Marie was the beloved daughter of the late James and Nora Reilly. She was married 50 years to the love of her life, Peter. She loved her four children; Peter Jr., Lisa, Laura, and Steven. Marie is the dear sister of Patricia Bradshaw, and the late James and Michael Reilly (both Vietnam Veterans). She loved planning vacations to Mexico, Sedona AZ, Cruises to the Caribbean, and a special trip to Ireland with her sister. She also loved going to Broadway Musicals and singing along to the records while housecleaning.
