Obituary of Victor Crespo
It is with great sadness that the family of Victor Crespo shares the announcement of his passing on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at the age of 66 years after a long battle with cancer. Victor was surrounded by family in his last moments. He will be lovingly remembered for being a great family man.
Today we celebrate his legacy and his life, thanking God for his time with us.
Victor was born on June 28, 1955 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. He was born to Juan Crespo and Carmen Maria Vargas Espinosa along with siblings Ernesto, Jose, Clara, Luis, Hector, Rosa and Marta.
Victor traveled to Brooklyn, NY where he would soon meet his true love Maria A. Decena Nivar. They were married on March 6, 1973. Their marriage would last 48 years and create a blended family of Maria's daughter Kenia and three children produced from their union: Cenia, Victor and Miguel. They remained in Brooklyn for the duration of his life.
Victor worked for the local 32BJ SEIU union for 42 years. He worked two full time jobs for 18 years. He was a dedicated provider. He also had a special gift for learning. He was a voracious reader. History was one of his favorite subjects. He was also self educated in the field of computers and all things related to DIY. He was sometimes jokingly referred to as MacGyver by his children. But his biggest passion was for his family. His love for his wife, children and most especially his grandchildren whom he doted on and spoiled filled him with happiness.
Victor is survived by his beloved wife Maria Crespo; his children Kenia, Cenia, Victor and Miguel; his siblings: Clara, Ernesto, Jose, and Hector; his 8 beautiful grandchildren: Christian, Gabriel, Amauris, Valentina, Vincent, Leihla, Nathaniel, and Gabriel along with numerous family and friends.
