Obituary of James Gerard McCarthy

James Gerard Vincent McCarthy, age 75, of Breezy Point entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Mr. McCarthy was born September 2, 1945 in Brooklyn. He is the son of the late Edmund and the late Elizabeth (Walsh) McCarthy. Devoted husband of 48 years to Jeannette E. (Stanbrough) McCarthy. Loving father of Gerard T. McCarthy (Colleen), Kristen A. Hemmer (George), Elizabeth K. Payumo (Victor) and Alison M. McCarthy. Cherished grandfather of George, Kaitlyn, Gerard, Anne Marie, Maren, James and Olivia. Dear brother of Betsy Dillon, the late Edmund McCarthy, Miriam McCarthy Dumville, the late Katherine McCarthy and brother-in-law of Marion Kelly and Alison Pensabene. Beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May Gerard’s soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

 

Reposing Sunday, August 22 from 2:00 - 8:00 PM  at Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn.

Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:30 am on Monday, August 23 at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, 204-25 Rockaway Point Blvd., Breezy Point, New York. 

Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn.
