Obituary of Cecilia Jennings
Cecilia Jennings (nee Gibbons), age 59, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 11, 2021. Cecilia was born on July 22, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter of the late John Francis and the late Grace Ellen (Rogers) Gibbons and was the sister of the late Joseph (infant). Cecilia was the Beloved wife of Sean Jennings, her love of 26 years. She was the Loving sister of John Gibbons (Diane), Mary Gibbons and Teresa Hopkins (Ron). She was a Loving sister-in-law to Karen Kennedy (John-deceased), Kathy Pulisciano (Philip) and Thomas Jennings (Nadine). She was the Cherished aunt of Stephanie, John, Thomas (Samantha), Daniel, Christine (Michael), Erin (Greg), Ryan and Sarah.
As everyone knew, Cecilia always had a smile on her face that rivaled the twinkle in her blue eyes. She had something positive or kind to say to everyone she met. Her sweet personality and kind spirit lit up every room she entered.
In addition to her unwavering love for her husband Sean, Cecilia adored her pups, Pebbles and Bailey. She was a decades-long, active member of the Knights of Columbus, Columbiettes Auxiliary, where she was involved in charity fundraising, and volunteering with children’s and adult holiday parties. After retiring from her career in the financial industry, she enjoyed spending time at their country home in the Poconos. She loved fishing, going on nature walks and browsing the flea markets and antique shops for decorating ideas. Another favorite activity was traveling, both locally and abroad. One of her favorite memories was their vacation to the Dominican Republic where they met fun and interesting people. At the end of the day, her favorite place was being in the Poconos with Sean, where they had planned to retire. Cecilia will be forever missed.
