Obituary of James Sechiano
James Sechiano, age 90, of Brooklyn entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 17, 2021. Mr. Sechiano was born August 31, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York. He is the son of the late Peter and the late Josephine (DeLucia) Sechiano. Mr. Sechiano served our country in the Army during the Korean war. He was the recipient of the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, United Nations Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. James was a very loved man who over the years attained the nicknames of “The Godfather”, “The Bull” and “Bull Dog” for his loving, strong, hardworking spirit. James enjoyed gardening and grew the most delicious figs from his own tree. Through the years, family and friends received parts of this fig tree to plant in their own gardens to enjoy. James was a simple man that preferred not to carry the traditional wallet, but rather always kept his money wrapped with a specific purple broccoli produce rubber band and would not have it any other way. Some of his favorite foods included a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and of course spaghetti and meatballs. James knew the exact arrival time of when the ice cream truck would come down the block and was ready to flag down the truck for his treat. His neighbors appreciated his presence on the block, James regularly used the leaf blower down the entire street for all his neighbors.
A fine gentleman that will be sorely missed.
May you all keep James in your prayers and hearts.
James is survived by his children: Helen M. Sechiano, Joanne Sechiano, James Sechiano and Kathryn Somma. Loving grandfather of Lauren Singer (Jeremy), Danny Sechiano (Lisa Marie), Katie Sechiano and Kristen Imbro (Jimmy). Cherished Peapa of Shannon Singer, Mary Singer, Erin Singer, Anthony Sechiano, Joey Sechiano, Joey Sechiano, Juliana Imbro, Olivia Imbro and James Imbro. James will be welcomed into Heaven by his beloved wife, Katherine E. Sechiano and his dear siblings, Michael Sechiano, Rocco Sechiano and Anna Riccio.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May James' soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
