I met Walter 24 years ago, early in my career, while working in Community School District 15. He was a man to look up to, one who always had good (and funny) advice. Throughout my career, Walter and his wise words have popped into my mind. I am saddened to hear of his passing. Walter, you were a good man who will be missed by many. May God's grace be with you and your family - Joe Santiago

I have many fond memories of Walter; Mr Sadowski as I always called him. I met him when I was 24 and he saw in me leadership skills I did not know I had. It was his mentoring, leading by example, and providing me opportunities that made me a successful Principal for 19 years. The one thing that stands out for me is his beliefs that relationships matter; how we treat and care for one another is truly the mark of a good leader. I try to pass on his teachings to educators and my own family. Walter’s values will be in our hearts. My condolences to Pat and the family.

We met Walter and Pat when we escaped the New York winters and fled to the warm shores of Hutchinson Island. As friends of the Espositos, we were welcomed into the group and had many fun days together at the beach, pool, restaurants and cocktail parties. Walter was always a fun loving, friendly guy, bigger than life! We will cherish our memories of him. Ginny and John Murphy

Walter will be dearly missed, he was a good neighbor and a great friend. One of my fondest memories of Walter is many Saturday mornings he would pass our house carrying rolls and lunch for the family and flowers for Pat. Smiling and talking to us all on his way. I would call my husband Pete’s attention to the flowers for fun and say “Walter you are an inspiration to the men of East 45th Street.” Good memories.
My love and condolences to you all in this painful time,
Nancy O’Neill

Our thoughts were with you all this past week after we heard Walt was sick, and even more now after hearing that he has passed. Your dad was one of our favorites!!! He was such a positive person, raised a great family, had a successful career, loved the good things in life, and was always interested in what was going on in our lives. From eating steamed mussels in the backyard of your Brooklyn home to having some cold ones on Bedford beach, we always enjoyed hanging out with Walt. Your whole family has been a part of our life, and we wanted to let you know of our sadness of your dad’s passing, and that we're thinking about the Sadowski, Robertson, and Conforti families during this tough time.
Sincerely, Kenny and Courtney Bayne
