Obituary of Eileen M. Gutierrez
Eileen Margaret Gutierrez (nee Lewis) passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 11, 2020 at the age of 89. She was born on October 5, 1931 to Henry and Margaret (Shine) Lewis in Brooklyn, NY. She married Richard S. Gutierrez on June 18, 1956. She is survived by her 4 children – Mary Richers (Robert), Eileen Clark (Ed), Richard and Robert and her 3 beloved grandchildren Matthew (Jessica), Kyle and Eddie.
She was a wonderful, supportive mother who will be missed greatly by her family. Always there when she was needed and to offer a cup of tea to ease any situation. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She was always looking forward to celebrating holidays and family occasions. We hope she will be remembered for her positive outlook on life. She was a loving Aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She was a devout Catholic and loved attending Mass at her church, St. Columba, where she was a faithful parishioner there for 22 years. Prior to moving to Marine Park, she had been a lifelong parishioner of Holy Innocents Parish where she grew up, married, and raised her children.
Her health had declined in recent years and she was lovingly taken care of by her aide Afua Serwaa (Julie) who made it possible for her to live her last years at home. Our family is eternally grateful for the wonderful care she gave to our mom.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband Richard and her three siblings -Mary, Harry and John.
Forever In Our Hearts
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May Eileen's soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
