I first met Adam at Matheny School where I was his PCA. We developed a friendship which lasted for years. When Adam moved to one of the Matheny Group Homes I transferred as well. He was kind, funny, and a big jokester. You didn't know you'd been had until you saw that impish sparkle in his eyes!! He was supportive of his roommates and also of the staff. With all the things he had to deal with in his own life, he always had the time to listen to others and offer encouragement. He spoke of his family often and always with love and affection. He was amazing. I moved out of state and I heard that he moved to California and we lost touch. I tried looking him up online several times but was not able to find him. I even reached out to some of his former friends from Matheny but they had lost contact with him as well. I am so sorry to read of his passing. I don't know if anyone in his family will see this post but if you do, I just want to say I consider myself so very fortunate and blessed to have met Adam and be able to call him a friend. I loved you Adam, I think you knew that. My prayers and condolences to all of his family.
With love, Leslie Sobko, Crane Hill, AL

I’m sure you wouldn’t have remembered me, but I met you and your mom, Judy & Susan on the beach in the late 60’s. I, for a very short time, dated Judy. Your mom at one point wanted to give me a 1960 Chevy that was in the garage of the building. I don’t know what brought me to look for you, but I did. RIP to the young boy I met on the beach.
Regards to the family,
Larry marsiello

Adam, my baby brother... I can’t express how much you are loved and always will be. Your smile will be forever in my thoughts. The world should know your kindness and sense of compassion. Adam, you were one of a kind, unique and pure. There are so many memories that I’m lucky to have. I will include you forever; your presence will never be gone. Your favorite songs when you were little are the songs I seem to hear often now “Come on baby light my fire”, “Spinning Wheel” and “Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head”. These songs remind me of you holding a microphone and singing. Please know that I will forever be heartbroken that you’re gone but I will always love and remember you as my sidekick. We were always together growing up, you and me always! You taught me so much more than I taught you. Run Adam run and say hi to Momma.

Adam the very first time we met you took my hand and kissed it you made me feel so special because no man had ever done that before. Adam was a ray of sunshine and always had a smile on his face even if he didn't feel like smiling. He was a gentle, kind and compassionate soul with the biggest heart. I know right now you are free and running the bases with your nephew Wyatt and probably saying if the Yankees had me on there team they would have won the World Series. I know you are on God's team and he is lucky to have an angel like you. RIP sweet Adam I know that it will never be the same without you but one thing I will remember is to "Do it with love in my heart"

7 summers I got to spend with you and we spent that time laughing mostly and watching you perform a cover of ‘hey joe’ with your harmonica in hand. Your laugh was infectious and I never saw you without a huge smile on your face. You were such a character who has made a huge impact in my life and many peoples lives who had the absolute pleasure of being in your company.
I will forever cherish those memories, thank you Adam, it’s been a pleasure dude. Such a sad day for my camp family today!

Adam was one hell of a dude that touched so many of us and influenced our lives. He had that wonderful ability of holding a room's attention and was a larger than life character. Incredible moral standing and a good story that would make you think about life and your path.
I meet Adam in 2010 at summer camp upstate New York. I was a counselor at the lodge with Adam but in a very short time became friends and within the 12 days of a camp session, brothers from another mother, as Adam would put it. Since then we've played folk music together, shared many laughs and stories with one another.
He is a huge loss to everyone who knew him but also to the camp family. He is a massive loss to all the counselors that will never have the chance to meet him and be influenced by this incredible person, a true friend
Adam would say do not shed a tear for him, but remember those moments. The jokes and trouble he'd cause and most of all remember that laugh that would spread from room to room.
He'd want you to have a drink, have jump around and listen to Bob Dylan or Jimi Hendrix.
Like a Rolling stone, a true force of nature, in that next chapter Adam, keep on being you ❤

Uncle Adam I will honor you everyday by living how you lived. We should all live like you did. There is no doubt that you were faced with tremendous challenges from birth but never once complained about it or felt less than. You were the epitome of positivity and gratefulness. You helped me through my breast cancer diagnosis by understanding what feeling helplessness was. You talked to me and instilled in me a light that I knew would drive me out of the darkness. You helped me think about healing and that I would overcome sickness. Thank you for being you. I am so sorry your life ended. It is not fair but you touched so many lives here on earth that I know you will continue that work in heaven. I promise to live more like you. I promise. I love you, I will miss you so much.

I knew Adam when he was a little boy. Despite his physical limitations he was always positive and upbeat. One time when Adam was probably 7 years old, we took him to the rides in Coney Island. After going on a series of kiddie rides Adam pointed at an adult roller coaster and said that he wanted to ride it. I went on with him and he sat in my lap. When we got to the hills I could tell he was scared so I held him tighter and started laughing. Lo and behold as we were going down the hill Adam started to laugh also. That was who he was as a person, fearless and making the best out of a difficult situation. He was a pleasure to know. The world is less for his passing
