Ann Marie was one of the first nurses I met at Caledonian Hospital. She whipped me right into shape and told me I needed to be nothing short of perfect . I was a graduate of Caledonian School of Practical Nursing. as an LPN.. Ann Marie told me that I needed to go on for my Rn if I wanted to work in the ED so she pushed and pushed until I finally registered for an RN, Ann Marie had a way about her and always wanted the best for everyone. She was not going to stop until I graduated with my RN. Ann Marie has made me that tough strong ED nurse that I am. Ann Marie rest in Peace .

Ann Marie was one of a kind - she ‘owned’ the space around her [whether Caledonian or Brooklyn - ER, Metrotech, OR or your kid that was sick] - was happy to let you in but we ALL knew who was in charge & was happy she was there! In life, she shared and cared - hard to believe we are talking about her not being here. Her time has come to sit back & relax. Enjoy the rewards AnnMarie - all well deserved. We will hold you in our hearts forever....Anne Goonan

I consider myself very lucky to have been a friend of Annmarie. I knew Annmarie for 35 years both as a co- worker and then as a friend. Annmarie had a way about her that brought much joy and laughter wherever she went. We spent many a St Patrick’s day together at the NYC parade and then back for the traditional Irish meal with my family and friends. There would be singing and much laughter. My mother loved listening to Annmarie sing the Irish songs with us. Annmarie was one of the few people I knew that possessed a true spirit of helping others with no strings attached. She would help a stranger on the street when others would pass them by. She quietly performed her generous deeds and then moved on. Last year when I had surgery Annmarie prepared meals and brought them to my house so I would not have to cook. Annmarie last years were painful for her with the loss of her sister, her mom and then the personal pain she suffered. . I know that she is in heaven now with her beloved family, drinking her tea and spreading her laughter to all. Annmarie I am happy that your pain is gone. Rest In Peace dear friend.

I know I speak not only for myself, but for most. We all lost a very dear friend. We were friends for over 40 years and more than friends we were family! I was fortunate and proud to call her my friend and will miss her very much! As will my mom, who became her closest friend ,after her own mom had passed...sharing many shopping trips and many cups of tea! My son Johnathan, her Godson, who loved and cared for her greatly! Annie was the kindest and most loving person who had touched many lives! I will cherish the many memories we have shared and I know we all have lost a piece of us in her passing! So RIP my old friend!
