Dear Philly, I can’t express into words how much you are missed and loved by your family. And I’m honored to say you considered us a part of it. The kids always knew you as “Phillyburger”, and addressed you as such on invitations, lol. Your laugh warmed our hearts, and was infectious to all around you. Sammy has always been thankful to have you in his life, (would always talk about how he was afraid of your Kung foo grip) and was uplifted when you reminded him that his mistakes are things he did, but doesn’t make you who you are. Your girls are true matriarchs of their families, because they were taught by the best. Although I wish I were whispering these words to you in person, I’m sure you can still hear us. We love and miss you more than words can say. Fly high ❤️
To Aunt Mimi, Nunu, AND EVERYONE ELSE, we can’t wait to hug you in person to express our condolences. We love you, are there with you in spirit.
With Love, Sammy, Nikki, Venice, Siena, ham, and Sophia❤️

No words can express our deep loss for Aunt Phyllis. Growing up she use to squeeze our cheeks until they were red whenever we saw her and continued on through the years. Her smile was amazing as well as her love for her family. Thankful she was able to attend our wedding to see everyone. We will miss her tremendously! Love, Cindy and Mike.

I loved my Aunt Phyllis, my Godmother, and she was filled with such love. As soon as she opened the door, she opened her arms with a big smile, hugged you and then pinched your cheeks. It hurt so had but I loved it sooo much. Then, she sat me down with Chips Ahoy and milk. God rest your soul Aunt Phyllis. I know God has a special place prepared in glory just for you. Your Niece, Maria Coffyn (Gallo).

Philly, what an amazing Lady and such a tremendous loss to this chaotic world. About 40 years ago you opened your home to me and Sammy because we were Michael’s younger siblings and our family was going through a rough time. You welcomed us with open arms and from that moment on we were family for life. I am sure I can speak for everyone you ever came in contact with, there was no one more loving, caring and yes even a bit rambunctious than you were. Those who know and loved you secretly enjoyed the rambunctious side probably a little too much lol. My heart, as well as all of the family’s hearts genuinely hurt. The thing that is shining a bit of a light in this darkness is that there is a whole crew that I am sure greeted you at the gates of Heaven. You’re beloved husband and son were first in line. Philly, I am grateful to have had you as a part of my family for the past 40 years. I am grateful to know that this isn’t goodbye but I will see you again! I love you Philly!

I lived next door to Phillis all of my childhood. She was a beautiful, strong and loving woman. I was always a little scared of her because she wasn’t afraid of anything or anyone. I remember her always jumping up on a chair to give Joseph a slap. She always made me feel like part of her family. Phillis was an amazing woman. She will be missed.

Nanny, how do I put into writing how amazing you were. You weren’t my grandmother by blood but by choice. From day 1 you welcomed me into your home and eventually into your family with open arms. You wrapped me in the love that you gave your own grandchildren and I will forever appreciate that. I am so happy Olivia got to build that relationship with you, got to experience your love and will always remember it. I am happy Ryan and Char got to experience it as well and even though they are younger I know that will always remember their nanny and how she loved them. Our family is what it is because you were the head of it all. I’ll miss you calling us little BB’s, I’ll miss the sound of your voice, the softness of your curly hair and the love that filled the air with you being in the room. This isn’t goodbye, this is see you later. Watch over our babies and smack them when they need it! Tell John we miss him and Grandpa that I wish I could have met him as well. I love you with all of my heart and will forever speak your name.

Aunt Phyllis
I know that when you reached the gates, you heard those words, Well done, good and faithful servant. You were a force to be reckoned with. A strong women with a love for family. You tirelessly cared for those who needed you. When your husband was taken from you, you did what you had to in order to take care of your family and hold them together. I always admired that in you. You will forever be missed. This world won't be the same without you in it but heaven has gained a beautiful angel. Rest in peace dear aunt.

I was my sister’s Butch a Baby growing up. In her loving not so gentle way she washed my face and combed my hair. As a preteen, I learned to love music and dancing from watching Phyllis and her friends dance to the big bands in our parents’ living room. She was my mentor when I had my babies. She was the peacemaking arbitrator Luddy used when he had a remodeling scheme. I am who I am because of her loving, kindness, caring and nurturing sisterly ways. Over the years she earned the loving titles of Bull, Hands, and Aunt Pill. As a great aunt to my grandchildren she got stuck under Donna’s bed, playing hide and seek with Chuck and was whacked by my Jenny for not going in the pool. Phyllis will forever be in my heart my beloved sister. Love and peace, your baby sister.

Love just a four-letter word with 2 vowels and 2 consonants. Love is the meaning of life. Aunt Phyllis was love. She loved her family, her friends, her Brooklyn, her life. Her love was simple yet wise. Her love was magnetic and curative. Her love was a beacon. You felt it from far away. Does that kind of love die? No. Those of us who were lucky enough to bask in her loving glow will have that glowing light in our hearts, souls, and minds for the rest of our lives. That love will be passed on to the ones that we love. A little bit of Aunt Phyllis love glows in us every day and will continue. Aunt Phyllis was the sun to our familiar universe. Her shine helped us grow directly and indirectly. Death cannot extinguish her love. Her love will continue to shine. I will miss seeing her and talking to her, but I will always have her shine. Love such a short word with infinite impact. Shine on Aunt Phyllis.

She leaned over the sink and said Steven, where are you baby and he jumps in front of the window screaming here I am and sprayed her threw the window with the hose. Lol.She was yelling and laughing trying to close the window. She didn’t even get mad just called him a lil BB lol.
