Obituary of Marie Germaine Previl

It is with great sadness, the family of Marie Germaine Previl announce her passing into eternal rest.

Marie Germaine Previl was born in Leogane, Haiti, and emigrated to the United States in the late 1970's. She is best known for her care giving skills; she has cared for not only her siblings and mother, but her nieces and nephews, and a number of children over the While in the United States, Marie Germaine had the opportunity to work in the textile industry and she was proud of the chance to work outside the home. Marie Germaine was also involved with her church, Our Lady of Refuge; she was very connected to the Haitian community, and engaged in various ministries including the Legion of Mary.

Marie Germaine was known as "Tante Germaine" to family and friends. She was like a ‘second mother’ to many of us; she cared for her mother, siblings, nieces and nephews. She was a loving and caring woman who was willing to help anyone in need, and would give you her last dollar if she thought you needed it. She felt immense joy in being involved in family celebrations. She loved to be a hostess, making sure people were comfortable and well fed. Her presence at family functions will be forever missed.

Marie Germaine is survived by her sisters Ermite and Paulette, sister-in-law Lucienne, nieces and nephews and their families, and a large community of close family and friends.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
