Obituary of James Francis Cosgrove

James Francis Cosgrove, Sr, a resident of Brooklyn passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at home in Brooklyn at the age of 91. James was born on December 10, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY. He is the son of the late Thomas and the late Susan (Adcock) Cosgrove.  He married Geraldine Dawson the love of his life and were married for 36 years. Geraldine predeceased James in 1992. James served in the Army Air Corps from February 27, 1946 to April 11, 1947.  James was employed by as a Civil Engineer PE. James is survived by his loving children James F. Cosgrove Jr., John D (Eileen) Cosgrove, Brian T. Cosgrove, Marianne (Robert) Pearson and Kathy (John) McHugh; his beloved grandchildren Megan, John, Moira, Kelly, Mary Elizabeth, JeanneAnne, Maureen, Mary, Kerry, Katie and Nora; and his cherished sister in law Marie Wagner and his nieces and nephews. James is also predeceased by his loving daughter in law Maureen Cosgrove who passed away in 2003 and his brother Thomas Cosgrove who passed away in 2015.

 Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Visitation will be Tuesday July 9, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Wednesday July 10, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, Inc., 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn, NY.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday July 11, 2019 at Our Lady Help Of Christians R.C. Church, 1315 East 28th Street, Brooklyn, NY.  Burial will follow at St Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale.
