Obituary of Trevor A. Litchmore

 

Dr.Trevor Litchmore MD, son of the late Barton Elleston Litchmore and Millicent Flowers, was born on August 8th, 1960 in St. Catherine's Jamaica and passed away on April 30th, 2019 at the age of 58.

            Trevor was born in Jamaica where he attended high school at  St. Mary’s College and graduated at the age of 16. Two years later he would go on to attend school in the United States at the City University of New York, where he graduated with an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts and Science coupled with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology; he earned the distinguished Magna Cum Laude designation among other awards demarcating his academic prowess and association with the Golden Key National Honor Society.

             In 1984, Trevor continued his studies in the field of medicine. He attended medical school at the State University of New York at Buffalo earning his Doctorate in Medicine by 1991. He would later undertake an internship at the University of Maryland Medical Systems as a Medical Internist, where he also met the mother of his two children, Jessica(Nina) Minter, followed by a residency at Albany Medical Center. By 1994, Trevor had completed his transformation into a doctor of medicine and a father.

            As a practicing physician, Trevor worked in a plethora of locations all across the state of New York. He practiced at major hospitals such as  St.Peters, Glens Falls, Hudson Falls, Ellis, St.Mary’s,  Rochester General and Columbia Memorial Hospitals. He also worked with smaller health service locations including and not limited to the IMA group, OPMC (Office of Professional Medical Conduct), Wilson Health Center, Community Care Physicians, the Whitney M. Young Jr Health Center, Hometown Health Services, and Lourdes Primary Care Associates. In addition to traditional hospital work, he also served the medical and local community moonlighting as an immigration doctor, working at the VA, Rikers Island and serving as a member of the American College of Physicians as well on various administrative review boards.

            Over his nearly 25 year-long career, Trevor Litchmore garnered respect and admiration from his local colleagues and the surrounding community, which manifested in a variety of awards such as the Medical Medal of Honor .Although a stronger testament to his impact can be found by simply asking the countless lives he’s touched over the course of his long career.

            Outside of his career, Trevor enjoyed the simpler things in life. He enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends, watching movies, debating politics, gardening and engaging in activities with his two children.

            He was preceded in death by his brother Winston Litchmore (NY) followed by his father Barton Litchmore (NY). He is survived by his sister Florence Litchmore (NY), and two remaining brothers Claude Litchmore (NY), Kenneth Litchmore (NY); hail-brother Barton Litchmore (NY),  his ex wife Jessica(Nina) Minter (NY), as well as two children Trevina Litchmore (NL)  and Daniel Litchmore (MA), various cousins including but not limited to Sharon Litchmore (FL), and a plethora of nieces and nephews including but not limited to: Dwayne Litchmore (CA), Joy Litchmore (CA), Philena Litchmore (NY), Kevin Litchmore (NY), Kenny Litchmore (NY), Varelleta Litchmore (PA), Claude Litchmore (NY) and Clayton Litchmore (PA).
