Obituary of William Patrick Flaherty

William Patrick Flaherty died peacefully at home on April 23, 2018 with his family by his side.  He was 85.  The son of the late John & Margaret Flaherty, he was born January 10, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY. 

After graduating from St. Augustine High school, William enlisted with the US Army.  Upon returning home a life of service seemed his destiny.  He joined the rank and files of the NYPD retiring after 25 years of dedicated service. 

Devoted father of Maryellen Rodriguez (Steve), Erin Brower (Bob), Sharon Ricci (Mike) and Therese Flaherty.  Dear Grandfather of Steven Rodriguez (Andrea), Michelle Silverman (Kenny), Kaitlin Rodriguez, Mathew Brower, Christopher Brower , Megan Brower , Michael Ricci, Christina Ricci and Sarah Ricci.  Great Grandfather of Clare Rodriguez.  William was pre deceased in life by his wife & mother of his children Clare Flaherty.

Reposing Wednesday 6 to 9:00 PM and Thursday 2 to 5 and 7 to 9:00 PM at The Marine Park Funeral Home.  Funeral Friday with NYPD Honor Guard, Mass of The Resurrection Friday 9:45AM Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Church, Brooklyn.  Committal service with US Army Honors Green – Wood Cemetery & Crematory Chapel.
