Obituary of Assunta Scalese Calafato

Assunta Scalese Calafato "Sundie" passed away on March 8, 2018 at 91 years old. Sundie was the devoted wife of the late Andrew and the Anthony Frank. She was the loving mother of Maria Scalese and Andy Scalese. Sundie was the last of 7 brothers and sisters. She was the cherished grandmother of Meghan Behan, Stephanie Scalese, John Garry , and James Garry; and great Nauna to Savannah, Lorelei, PJ.She was a beloved aunt and great aunt. 

The visitation for Assunta will be held at Marine Park Funeral Home on Tuesday March 13, 2018 from 2:00 - 5:00 & 7:00 - 9:00 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on at St. Thomas Aquinad Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday March 14, 2018 at 9:30 AM - the family will be meeting at the funeral home by 8:30 AM. The Committal Service will be immedately following the Funeral Mass at Long Island National Cemetery.
