Obituary of Corinne O'Hagan-LaGiusa
“Nanny” was a lover of baseball, the Yankees, puzzles (complex and large, because she had tremendous patience), her I-Pad, and Facetime to see her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her greatest pride and joy was each and every one of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her love for her family was unique. She loved each one with the ability to create a special relationship that made each person feel as if they were the only one she loved even within a large family. Nanny had a way of allowing people to be themselves and feel accepted without the necessity of too much conversation. It was the gleam in her twinkling eyes, her smile, a tilt of her head and a raise of her eyebrows that felt, in one moment, that she had let you in on a joke without any words being spoken. Her welcoming smile invited you to sit, and pass the time with her as if you were sitting on a porch just enjoying the moment.
This cordial warmth has been passed down by her to her four daughters, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren, as well as family and friends. She created a special place in her heart for each and every person she encountered in her long, productive, and loving life. She will be deeply missed by so many people who are each grateful for having spent a moment of laughter, kindness, and reflection with a woman who was truly everyone’s “Nanny”.
