Obituary of Ignacio F. Manieri

Ignacio F. Manieri, age 85, of Brooklyn passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017. Mr. Manieri was born December 26, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY. He is the son of the late Alessio and the late Angelina (Palazzotto) Manieri. Valiantly served our country during the Korean War with the US Army where he was the recipient of the Korean Service Medal with two bronze service stars as well as the United Nations Service Medal of Honor. Retired union delegate of the FDNY Engine 323 in Mill Basin. Ignacio was an avid tennis player and enjoyed spending his free time traveling, crusing and his trips to Atlantic City. Most important to Ignacio was his family. Ignacio is survived by his four daughters, Carmen Ann Jost, Beatrice Sparapani (Gary), Patricia Viti (Eugene Jr.) and JoAnn Smith (Chad). Loving grandfather of Lisa Jost, Veronica Jost, Joseph Sparapani, Gary Sparapani Jr., Steven Sparapani, Madeline Viti, Jessica Viti, Eugene Viti III, Spencer Smith, Christian Smith, Sawyer Smith and Everett Smith. Reposing Thursday, March 30 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Friday, March 31 at Good Shepherd R.C. Church, Brooklyn, NY. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island where Ignacio will be laid to rest with his late wife, Madeline Manieri. Please see SERVICE INFORMATION for details and directions.
