Al was a great Irishman and a great New Yorker. I've met him several times in his later years at the Great Irish Fair and meetings of the St. Patrick's Society of Brooklyn. My prayers go out to Al's family. He will be missed. He will be included in the weekly Prayer List of the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn. May he rest in peace.

I'll always remember his sense of humor and his laugh, and his love of Tradition and Honor. May his soul rest with God's love.

Dear Cathy, Al was a very good friend and a true Hibernian. We shared many events together. I'm sorry my health precludes my attendance at the funeral but he will be in my prayers. To quote a fine Irish toast "Until we meet again may God hold him in the hollow of his hand."

Cathy, Sheila and Shaun,
I'm so very sorry to hear this news, and so very happy I was able to see you all at this year's fair. Al was a very special friend to me through all of our years together on the School Board in D.22. His contributions were many, and he brought a smile to many more. He loved to draw cartoons and sing like Bing Crosby, but most of all, he loved bragging about all of you. He will be missed for sure, but his memory will never fade.
With my deepest sympathy for your loss,
Eileen O'Brien

Was a great Irish gentleman and a inspiration to every one who knew him.
