Obituary of James F. Burke

James F. Burke of Las Vegas, Nevada died on May 24, 2016. He was born on October 19, 1954 in Brooklyn NY. He was the husband of the late Doreen, (nee) Sheridan and the son of the late Mary and James Burke. He is survived by his beloved sister, Rosemary Wheeler and many loving cousins and their families. His occupation as a security guard took him from the halls of a network studio to a brokerage firm before he excelled as a guard at the Junior High School he attended as a young man. In 1994 he and Doreen moved to their much loved Las Vegas with two weeks of free rooms, a few suit cases and their dreams of new adventures. He continued his career as a security guard at a few casinos until he returned to his preferred setting, the halls of a school filled with happiness and laughter. They had many happy years until medical adversities changed their lifestyle. He handled those changes and challenges with the same vibrato that his voice always held, along with the dignity, grace, laughter, and love he showed all though his life. A Mass of Christian burial will be held for James and Doreen on June 21, 2016 at 9:30 am at St. Thomas Aquinas; Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery where they will be laid to rest with generations of loved ones.
