Dearest Grace & Family,
What a beautiful video of a life well lived. Memories mean everything, and you have them in abundance. I am continually praying for the family, as you lay to rest an amazing husband, father & grandfather, and so much more. I wish I could be with you today, but I am with you in thoughts and prayers. May God rest Pierce's soul. May you find peace and comfort in your family, and the memories.
Love always and forever,
Jen & Lucas Smart

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Pierce Butler. He was a Lt. in the 61 Pct. when I had the pleasure of working with him. He was always kind and patient with me. A true gentleman. I had had many pleasant conversations with Lt. Butler, and during one of them, I had mentioned to him that I had recently gone shopping for a fish tank for my living room. However, while in the pet shop, I saw a tank of frogs and decided to take a few of them home instead of the fish. Lt. Butler cracked up laughing when I told him this story. Since I was single at that time, he asked me if I was planning to kiss them all until I found my prince !! That was the start of a long time private joke between us.
RIP Lt. Butler, and thank you for all of the kindness you showed me during my years on the job. Deborah Kosick Semendinger.

I knew your Dad as a Lt. in the 61. I loved him. He was a tough old time boss, but that ws a good thing. He would test you to see if you knew what you were doing and if you did, he would help. I know he loved when Mary Beth was a rookie, fresh out of the Academy and it was a rainy night. I offered my raincoat to her, and of course, graciously accepted. He, as you all know, was known as "Fierce Pierce", but he also met my Dad once, (I think my Dad had more time), but Lt. Pierce knew that I knew what he was doing because he talked to my Dad that one day, and my Dad never questioned me after that. I loved Lt. Pierce, he was a great man, and a wonderful, insighful Boss! God rest your soul.

Very saddened to hear of the passing of "Lt. Butler" - He taught me so much about the job when I was a rookie cop assigned to the 61Pct. I fondly remember him often saying - "Wait till the borough gets wind of this!". He was always a gentleman to me. I worked with Dolores in NSU 10 in 1984 - My deepest sympathies to you and your family. May his soul rest in peace.

Dear Dolores and Family,
I am so very sorry for the loss of such a wonderful and courageous man. Beside serving his country in many ways, Pierce was a much loved husband, father & grandfather. Though I haven't seen him in many years, I have always enjoyed hearing updates on how he was doing.
Losing a much loved family member is never easy. I pray for love, light, peace and understanding for the entire family. May your memories of Pierce always bring a smile to your faces.
I wish I could be there in person to express my sympathies. You are all in my heart and in my prayers. May God rest his soul, and keep him safely in his embrace.
Love always,
Jennifer & Lucas Smart
