The true meaning of friendship and brotherhood among men of honor, is when that person would forsake his own self to come to you and help you out in your time of need. That was and always will be my friend and brother, in which wasn't from the same mother or bloodline but I always knew he was a true brother who I called Dominic Pontillo. He was many things to so many friends and family. He truly will be missed, by all that truly knew him. I'm proud to have shared a very true brotherhood with this outstanding man of true honor, among men who wished they could've been half the man that he was and always will be. I will always love him and remember my dear friend and brother til we meet again in Heaven. On a more happier note Dominic always said to me, if I should go before him he would come to my grave site and piss on my head. That's exactly how my true life friend expressed himself to me and that's who Dominic was. There will never ever be anyone like him every again. I will always love you my brother in Heaven. Your friend and brother, John Peri. My heart and soul goes out to Denise, Jennifer, and Joseph.

Donny embodied the phrase "one of a kind." His heart was larger than life..he would be the first one to help, in any capacity he could. His children were his pride and joy and he spoke so highly of them and he sure was one proud poppa! Donny took care of Dee, my friend and 2nd mother. He cooked for her, drove her all over, did the shopping and laundry, and whatever she needed. I enjoyed his sense of humor, and the stories Dee (or Donny) would tell would have anyone cracking up. My heart is with Donny's family and all who cared for him. To say he will be missed by many is an understatement <333

Dominic (Donny) will be always in my heart! I consider him a friend and former NPS coworker. He always brought joy to me. He could make me laugh the minute he spoke to me. We usually spoke weekly and laughed about many things over the years. I will miss him more than a lot of people will know! Rest in peace Donny! Keep the Lord laughing! See you later! Eddie Lorenzini

Although I havnt been in touch with the Pontillo family in quite a few years I respected and admired Dominick, especially his parenting style. I co-coached at Amity baseball 10-12 years ago with Dom and our sons were team mates. It was obvious Dom was a beloved father. He surely had the love and respect of his children. Joe was a pleasure to coach and a great kid. I'm sure he grew into an adult that Dom was proud of. Dom will be missed. RIP.

What a loss of great, great man. He was so much a part of my teen years at Columbus Park and our great Hester Street Team. I was one of the youngest on the team and Donnie always treated me as one of the guys. I am so sick sitting here writing this because the world and neighborhood (Little Italy NYC) lost a great friend. God Bless You my friend and you will be so missed my me and many, many others.
Love always,
Tommy Monk
RIP my friend.
