Obituary of Frances Toale

Frances Toale, 76, of Brooklyn passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015. Mrs. Toale was born December 17, 1938 in Bronx, NY. Frances is the daughter of the late William P. and the late Edina M. (Donachy) Prendergast. Frances loved children and animals. She had a generous heart of gold. Always the life of the party, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Fran dedicated many years to the restaurant industry and then to her nursing career where she was fulfilled by the opportunity to help others. Frances was a committed member of Brooklyn’s Lioness Club as well as a devoted Knights of Columbus Columbiette. Beloved mother of Theresa McKenna and Elizabeth Flynn and her husband Stephen, she was the loving grandmother of Robert Hayden (Catherine Hayden) and Shawn McKenna (Brenna Mueller), Patrick Flynn, Carli Flynn and Michael Flynn. She was the cherished great grandmother of Joseph Hayden, Gianna Vitale, Cecilia Hayden and Marley Mueller-McKenna. Dear sister of her pre-deceased siblings Edward “Ted” Prendergast, Charles Prendergast, Robert Prendergast, Thomas Prendergast and Isabella ”Pat” Hammell. Frances was a dear friend of the late Jack Fahey and the late Herbert Kantrowitz, and the adored best friend of Peggy Sapienza. Frances is also survived by Lawrence Hayden - father of Theresa and Elizabeth, and John “Jack” Toale. Memorial Visitation will be Wednesday, November 18th from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, Inc., 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 19th at Good Shepherd R.C. Church, 1950 Batchelder Street, Brooklyn, NY at 10:00 AM.
