Obituary of Fritz Anthony Galette Sr.

Fritz Anthony Galette Sr. passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015 in Brooklyn, New York. Fritz was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and emigrated to the United States in the early 1960's. Shortly after his arrival to New York, he joined his future wife, Paulette. They married in 1963 and had two children, Paule and Fritz Jr. His profession was that of machinist, as he was known for being very handy and determined to fix almost everything. He worked for an extensive number of years for Seatrain, Brooklyn Navy Yard and the Metropolitan Transit Authority. Fritz was also involved with his church, Our Lady of Refuge. He was involved in various activities in the church, including that of Eucharistic Minister, which he was very proud. Fritz, also known as 'Fito' and 'Toto' to close friends and family, was a devoted family man. Throughout the years he was the host to countless of family get-togethers at his home. Events included birthday parties, communions, bridal showers, and wedding receptions. He felt immense joy in being involved in family celebrations. He loved to dance and was the life of the party. His presence at family functions will be forever missed. He is survived by his wife, Paulette, their children and spouses, grandchildren, siblings, and a large community of close family and friends. We are especially grateful to those people that took loving care of Fritz during his illness. Please see SERVICE INFORMATION.
