Obituary of Marian Eileen McCormick

Marian Nutting McCormick June 28, 1929- April 8, 2015 Marian Eileen Nutting McCormick, a native Brooklyn, NY, passed away on April 8, 2015. She was the beloved wife of and predeceased by James Leo McCormick. She was also predeceased by her parents, John Thomas Nutting and Helen Dowd Nutting. “Miss Marian” retired from her career as a secretary for Prentice Hall and Paramount Publishers. She was widowed at an early age, but her greatest joy was in raising her two wonderful sons. She is survived by her sons James Leo McCormick (wife Karin) of Annapolis, MD and John Thomas McCormick of Staten Island, NY, and her grandson Ryan Christopher McCormick. She is also survived by “#3 son” Michael Santino, and her cousins, nieces and nephews. She was also a Godmother to Catherine Dowd Tozer and Linda Stapleton Whitt. She was married in St Vincent Ferrer Church and a parishioner there for most of her life. “Miss Marian” was a total social butterfly. She absolutely loved dancing the Lindy and the Chattanooga ChooChoo. She loved socializing with her girlfriends, traveling with her Widows and Widower friends on trips including Ireland, having dinner parties, “Pink Ladies”, and watching TV with a box of chocolates. And she really loved finding a deal at the dollar store! Family will receive friends at a Wake on Friday, April 10 at Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Rd, Brooklyn, NY from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, E. 37th , Brooklyn NY on Saturday, April 11 at 10:00 am, & Glenwood Rd, East Flatbush, Brooklyn, NY.
