To the family of Mrs. Duffy,
I just found out today that Mrs. Duffy had passed away. I am sending the most heartfelt condolences to the family. She was my 6th grade teacher in St. Stephens (1986-87). She was tough, yet fair; I had learned a lot from her. She was definitely a teacher and a woman who had impacted my life.
May God bless and keep Mrs. Duffy in his everlasting arms. May God give peace to the family.
God bless,
Chellie Esters (St. Stephens Class of 1989)

To the family,
I belatedly heard about Ms. Duffy's death today. She was my sixth grade teacher at St. Stephen's in 1979. I cannot express to you the great impact that Ms. Duffy made on me. From daily devotions and singing patriotic songs to her strong stance on buying union made products, her passion for American history and watching religious movies during Holy week, I could go on at length. Ms. Duffy had an exuberance for teaching and I admire her even more for the values that she imparted to me. What I remember the most about her was a beautiful voice that rang out through the sanctuary from the back to the front. I speak of her often now with my own kids and my husband always wonders about my knowledge of all things American. I thank her for being such a fervent teacher and imparting to me the love of history.
Please accept my deepest though late condolences. She won't be forgotten and I know she is singing in heaven now.

Mrs. Stubbing-Duffy was my sixth grade teacher at St. Stephens. I have often thought of her over the years and the wonderful education, both academic and spiritual, I received from her. She is at peace now and I will never forget her.

Sister Mary Richard (aka Maureen Judy Duffy) was my teacher in the 4th grade at St. Johns Catholic School in Lima Ohio. She was my very favorite teacher in my entire school career. She was the kindest, most caring and beautiful person inside and out. I've often wondered what became of her and am so happy to have received an email from a person who attended the same school and knew I would be interested.
I am so impressed by this tribute. I've honestly never seen anything like it. I am so happy to see this beautiful, smiling face and to know that she had such happiness in her life.
My sincere condolences to her entire family.
Thank you for sharing her with us those years in Lima, Ohio.

Dear Maureen,
You were the only person who understood how I felt about my animals and the little strays. Now you can put a warm hand over all of them. By now you have been happily reunited with all your loving family and your little four legged ones.
Be happy in Heaven,
Anne

My name is Mark Page. I was a fourth grade student at St Johns grade school in Lima Ohio for the 1962- 1963 school year. Sr. Mary Richard was my favorite teacher of all throughout my Catholic school years. She was influential in helping me learn my Latin prayers required to become an alter boy. I remember her infectious smile and how she made me feel good about myself and want to do well to please her. I have grandchildren about the same age as I was when I had Sr. Mary Richard. I pray that they can have a teacher, sometime throughout their school years, that they respect and hold in as high regard as I did Sr.Mary Richard. Thank you so much for sharing her obituary. I have often thought about her and so happy to see that she was blessed with a wonderful collection of family and so many that loved her. May she rest in peace.

"Sr. Mary Richard", that's how I knew her. She was my fourth grade teacher at Lima St. John's and she was by far my very favorite ! I think I love to travel and see many different places because of her, I loved how she made Geography, now called Social Studies, so enjoyable. I remember her as so kind and loving and very beautiful! May she rest in peace.

So sorry for your loss. Sr. Mary Richard was my fourth grade teacher at Lima St. John the Evangelist. She has crossed my mind several times throughout the years. I am a secretary now for two Catholic Parishes. St. John where she taught and St. Rose both in Lima. I have shared the obituary on facebook and many folks both in grades above and below me have read it and commented to me. May God rest her soul. I am so glad that she had a happy life filled with the love of her husband and children. I have lost both of my parents and older brother now. You will always miss her, but how lucky you were to have her. I am glad that God blessed her with you all. She remains in my prayers. I am a 1972 graduate of Lima Central Catholic and would have had sister in 1964. She was so beautiful. I will always remember her eyes when she smiled. God bless you all.

I vividly remember Sister Mary Richard from the days in Lima at St Johns. She was a teacher to many of my nine children and to me was the ideal Catholic "sister".

My condolences to the family of a beautiful woman. My name is Larry Huffman from Lima Ohio. I graduated from Lima St Johns in 1967. In the 62-63 school year Sr Mary Richard was my 4th grade teacher. She was everyone's favorite. There are several of us St John grads still living in Lima. Whenever we talk about those days her name always comes up (So does Sr Scholastica but that's a different story).
I fondly remember being instructed by Sr Mary Richard in the Latin prayers for the Tridentine Mass. This obituary and especially the 25 minute video were beautiful. I watched this last night when it was sent to me and was deeply moved and I'm a 61 year old crusty lawyer who spent three years in the Marines in the early 70s !
Thank you for putting this together and letting us share some of her "post Lima" life.

Mrs. Duffy was my grandson, Devon's, teacher in St. Jude. I used to have many conversations with her, especially when I would pick Devon up from afterschool. She was a wise and wonderful lady! I never knew she was a nun many years ago, but after thinking about our conversations, it doesn't surprise me. Even after she left St. Jude, I would ask about her. She was a very special lady and will be missed.

May Maureen, aka Sr. Mary Richard, rest in eternal peace with God and his angels. She was my 4th grade teacher and my influence in becoming an altar boy at St. John's in Lima. I have thought of her many times over the years. She was probably the most important teacher in my life.
