I was so sorry to hear of Warren's passing. He was so helpful to me when I was recruiting young runners for the first time for the Fifth Avenue Mile Invitational years ago - I could not have done it without him. What a dear, sweet, lovely man. I am grateful to have known him and will remember him fondly. My condolences to his family.

Warren Ring, simply the best in every possible regard. He graced the world stage at the Olympic Games and World Masters Championships; the national scene at the NCAAs, the Penn Relays and the National Scholastic Championships (to mention a few); he impacted the local NYC track & field/cross-country landscape in ways too numerous to list. You will be tremendously missed sir, truly a great man. May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!

My condolences to the Ring family at this time of the loss of Warren. He was a great man and well respected in the neighborhood. He will truely be missed by all that knew him. Growing up everytime he saw me he would remind me that he grew up in my house on East 16th Street. He was a Flatbush kid till the end. RIP Warren.
