I am so sorry to hear of Palo's passing. I am Joan Menendez's daughter (John & Edna). Palo once told me a story of her wedding day. My grandfather insisted on driving them to, Baltimore? They had train tickets but he insisted. My mother was about seven years old, She sat between them in the back seat. Palo told me she was none too happy about that arrangement! My mother passed May 21, 2014 in Hampton, VA.
Palo & I spoke a few times on the phone about the family. Being in New Orleans we never knew our Menendez relatives, except for Pat & Betty Menendez. I was so happy to have had those few conversations with her. I would love to hear from my cousins, (504) 309-0761.
