One of the very few teachers that have made such an impact on my life. Never enjoyed being on time for a class except for his. Shoppe, has taught me the correct and proper way to use many tools and create some great pieces. It has taught me to be self sufficient, because I know I had an excellent leader. Never did he scold his students, this man had the patience to sit and correct the errors even if that meant the entire class. And for all those reasons, it saddens me that an idol has gone up to heaven. I send my deepest sympathies to your family Mr. Mineo. May you rest in eternal peace now and keep a keen eye on us all!! Thank you for being a teacher of mine!!

Dear Nina, Robert, Steven, Mari, and all Phil's family,
We miss Phil dearly. He was the best of people. He lived life simply, but fully. He had the wonderful virtues of being non-judgemental, caring, and generous. He loved his family and you returned his love. He has left us a legacy of goodness and kindness that will remain wih us all our lives. The world is a smaller place without him and it will take time to fill that whole he has left. But we have been Blessed with the time he was with us.
Love, Anne and Jack Niemiec

Mr. Mineo,
You were a wonderful, caring teacher and an outstanding colleague. The Weehawken Public School District owes you a debt of thanks for your many years of service. Because you touched the lives of so many students along the way, so many alumni still vividly remember your woodshop class and the careful instruction you gave them.
You will always be remembered as ONE OF THE BEST!
My condolences to your entire family. GOD Bless You Phil.

Mr. Mineo was my shop teacher for 7th and 8th grade - 1973 and 1974. I have been a contractor now for over 30 years and owe much of my success to my early years with Mr. Mineo. He is one of my fondest memories of my youth in Weehawken and I think of him often and smile. I regret that I wasn't able to speak to him prior to his passing but his family should know what an impact he made and how lucky they were to have him.
