Obituary of Saverio Gitto

Saverio “Sal” Gitto, a dedicated family man and gentle soul, passed away on April 18th, 2024, in Fort Lauderdale, FL, leaving behind a legacy of devotion. Born on July 4th, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY.

Throughout his life, Sal was a shining example of hard work and perseverance. He approached every task with diligence and determination.

In addition to his tireless work ethic, Sal was a baseball fan and avid reader, absorbing the news of the day and delving into books on historical figures, enriching his understanding of the world.

Sal took great pride in his appearance, always believing in presenting himself with dignity and grace, a reflection of his inner character and values.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He treasured moments spent with his family, imparting upon them the values of integrity and resilience.


His legacy of hard work and kindness will serve as a testament to a life well-lived. Saverio Gitto will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

The visitation for Sal Gitto will be held at Marine Park Funeral Home on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 10:00 AM - the family will be gathering at the funeral home by 9:00 AM. The Committal Service will immediately follow the Funeral Mass at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
