Obituary of Glenn J. Milley

Glenn Joseph Milley, a lifelong Brooklyn resident, passed away on Thursday, April 30 at age 71. He was born on August 24, 1954 to the late Frank and Marie (Reilly) Milley. He worked in emergency service for National Grid (originally named Brooklyn Union Gas) for 38 years where he helped thousands of customers - especially after such devastating tragedies as Hurricane Sandy.

He met Rosemarie Careccia in 1971 and they married in 1979. They had two children: Donna Lynette and Glenn Matthew.

Glenn loved classic cars, singing along to the oldies, and feeding the birds in the backyard. Above all, he was known for his laughter and making life a bit easier for everyone else. He was a beloved member of the community and his loss has left behind not only a devastating absence but a lasting legacy of compassion and love that will now live on in others.

He is survived by his siblings: Claire (late Jerry) Quint, Frank (Peggy) Milley, and the late James Milley and Ellen Milley Murphy; his in-laws John (Linda) Careccia, Rae (late Dennis) Careccia, many nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.

A celebration of Glenn's life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 12-6 PM at the family home.

Donations in his memory can be made to the American Lung Association.
