Obituary of Gail Cassidy

Gail Cassidy, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. Gail was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 13, 1938, to parents Ken and Alice Bellamy. Gail is reunited with her beloved husband of 54 years,Robert Cassidy. She is survived by her son, Kevin, and daughter-in-law, Pamela Cassidy, son Robert, and daughter-in-law, Robyn Cassidy; her beloved grandchildren, Daniel, Ryan and his wife Monica, Eric, and Steven; and her great-grandchildren, Elena and Luca. Gail was a loving, devoted sister to Diane Engard, and predeceased by her brother-in-law, Warren. Gail was predeceased by her beloved brother, Donny Bellamy and his wife, Lois Bellamy. Gail was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews who she cherished her time with.   

Gail enjoyed a long career at Kingsborough Community College in the Registrar Department,which she truly loved. She was also a devoted  parishioner at Resurrection Church. Gail had many hobbies.  She loved to crochet, and spent many hours teaching the craft to others in her community.  Gail enjoyed donating her beautiful crocheted works to the elderly in nursing homes and newborns in hospitals.  Those who knew Gail best know how much she loved baking her delicious rugelach cookies for family, friends, and neighbors. Gail also enjoyed spending time in her garden taking care of her flowers and plants. She also loved spending time with her many close friends over the years. Most importantly, Gail truly loved the family home that she built with her husband, Robert, and enjoyed many happy moments there.

A wake for family and friends will be on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Road Brooklyn, NY 11234, 718-339-8900.

Funeral Mass will be held 9:30 AM on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 Resurrection Roman Catholic Church,  2331 Gerritsen Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11229.
