Obituary of Isabel M. Cawthon
Isabel M. Cawthon was born on March 10, 1939, and entered into eternal life on April 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the beloved daughter of the late William J. Manning and the late Margaret Schnabel, and is now reunited in heaven with her cherished husband, Gerald J. Cawthon and her daughter, Maureen Margaret.
Isabel was the loving sister of William (Grace), Mary (Mickey Yantz), Spencer, and James (Bob Huhem).
She is survived by her devoted children: Cheryl (Sara Perszyk), Michael (Elizabeth), Craig (Barbara), Todd (Josephine), and Melissa (Christopher Wagner).
Proud and loving grandmother to Tysen (Kathryn), Riley (Molly), Shane, Matthew, Nigel, Daniel, Ashley (Peyton), Jessica, Aliza, Hailey, Kylie, Miranda, Ryan (Kimmy), Tyla (Daniel), Gerald (Yuri), Nina (Ethan), Jonah, Simon (Ashley), Olivia (Zachary), Meagan (John), and Isabella (Alexander).
Adoring great-grandmother to Arcadia, Hazel, Zinnia, Felix, Iris, Lily, Clare, Rory, Daniela, Timothy, Elijah, Andrew, Samuel, Gwendolyn, Gabbi, Phoebe, Evie, and Isla.
Isabel was a beloved aunt to countless nieces and nephews.
A native of Brooklyn, New York, Isabel attended James Madison High School and spent many cherished years at her country home in Margaretville, New York. In 2014, she relocated to Largo, Florida.
Later in life, Isabel earned her GED and proudly worked as an MTA bus driver to help support her family. In addition to raising her children in the Kensington neighborhood, she also worked as a home health aide and served as a school crossing guard near Ditmas Junior High School in the early 1980s.
Reposing on Friday, April 17 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 AM at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church, 2055 East 69th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11234.
The committal service will immediately follow at St. John's Cemetery, 80-01 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village, NY 11379.
Isabel will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She will forever be remembered as the matriarch of her family, now at peace in heaven.
