Obituary of Pedro Hernandez

Pedro Hernandez, age 66, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Mr. Hernandez was born October 18, 1959, in Manhattan, NY. He is the son of the late Hector and Emerida (nee Gonzalez) Hernandez.

Pedro devoted 27 and a half years of his life being a New York City Corrections Officer, a role he carried with quiet strength and unwavering commitment. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Summer brought him great happiness, especially the many vacations he spent in the Catskill Mountains. Pedro was deeply devoted to his beloved companions, Benny and Boots, whose loyalty and love were a constant and comforting presence in his life.

Pedro is survived by his wife Regina (nee Calabrese) Hernandez.

Beloved father of Peter (Leah,) Alicea, Brianna and Jaclyn (Miguel.)

Pedro was one of eight siblings; the late Hector Hernandez, the late Carmen Hernandez, the late Josephine Hernandez, Awilda Hidalgo, Yolanda Mendez, the late Richard Hernandez and Gilbert Hernandez.

Loving uncle to his nieces and nephews, and a dear friend to many.

Calling hours will be Saturday, March 28 from 3:00 - 8:00 PM and Sunday, March 29 from 3:00 - 8:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, Inc., 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn, NY.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 AM on Monday, March 30 at Good Shepherd R.C. Church, 1950 Batchelder Street, Brooklyn, NY.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn.
