Obituary of John D. Beckman
John D. Beckman, 61, passed away at the age of 61. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Henry and Ann (Meehan) Beckman.
Known to many as a legendary stagehand and affectionately called “Fat Cat” or “Johnny Beckman,” John was known for his loyalty to his friends and dedication to his craft. He was an avid New York sports fan and a lifelong fan of The Rolling Stones, passions that brought him great joy throughout his life.
Beloved brother. Loving uncle of Bernard, Chris, Joseph, Henry III, Christine, Daniel, and Emma. Dear great-uncle of Jack, Joseph, Grace, Henry IV, Julianna, Isabella, and Anthony.
John is now reunited in eternal peace with his beloved wife, Jane “Bee” Beckman, and together they remain forever united.
John will be remembered for his humor, generosity, and the lasting impact he had on all who knew and loved him.
Reposing on Saturday, March 14 from 5:00 - 9:00 PM and Sunday, March 15 from 2 - 5 and 7 - 9PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn.
Funeral Mass will be held 9:30 AM on Monday, March 16 at St. Bernard R.C. Church, 2055 East 69th Street, Brooklyn.
Committal service to follow at Burial will be in Green-Wood Crematory Chapel, 500 25th Street, Brooklyn.
