Obituary of Cathleen Cena

Cathleen “Cathy” Cena, 60, of Brooklyn, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at home surrounded by her family. Born Saturday, February 12th, 1966 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Dennis Sekely and Catherine Miller.

After completing college she went on to earn her MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. In 1990 she achieved her goal  of moving to New York City, where she went on to work in finance at Lehman brothers. It was there that she first met her future husband, Anthony Cena. After a few years, she went on to live in Paris fulfilling her life long dream.

Upon returning to New York, she was engaged to Anthony and they spent 27 wonderful years married. God blessed both Cathy and Anthony with the gift of their daughter, Annabella. After becoming a mother, Cathy became an educator dedicating herself  to helping young children in Pre-K.

Cathy had many interests, including travel, reading, baking, British TV dramas, playing cards and board games, crossword puzzles, and shopping for shoes and bags. Cathy always put others first, generously donating her time to charitable causes. She looked forward to her summers spent at the beach with her friends who became family all year long. Above all, She deeply cherished spending quality time with her husband and daughter.

She is survived by her husband, Anthony; and their daughter, Annabella; her sister, Sandy Napoli and her husband Joe, her brother, David Sekely and his wife Rose;  and her nieces and nephews, Laura, Jonathan, Heather, and Meghan.
